by Tupavco
$54.98

UPC: 741360888111
Model Number: TP511

Wireless Panel is ideally suited for directional and multipoint 2.4 GHz band applications.

WiFi Panel Antenna is the most popular type of directional antenna in use today. The 20dBi 2.4Ghz Outdoor Panel Antenna offers 18 deg both Vertical and Horizontal Beamwidth. This WiFi Antenna comes with an N-Female connector. N-Female is an industry standard connector. It has threads on the outside and a center socket.

This antenna operates without the need for a grounding in most cases. However, you can ground antenna via the outer conductor of the connector and the cable, or through the mounting hardware. We do, however, recommend you install a lightning surge protector between the Panel antenna and a device to prevent a lightning strike to the antenna from damaging your device and equipment.

2.4 GHz 18° H-POL or V-POL, 2.4GHz Panel Antenna

Wireless Panel Antenna TP511 in most cases can not be attached directly to the device (wifi router, signal booster, etc.) without some type of cable converter/adapter This Antenna has N-Female connector so it will need the cable/converter from N-Female type to [your device connector type], usually some pigtail coax RP-SMA cable connector. Also, you can put amp of some kind or signal booster between device and antenna.

The antenna does not come with mast pole mount; it comes with two U-bolts which can be used with the attached plate for pole mounting. It allows horizontal or vertical polarization.

The Panel antenna is used to direct the WiFi beam. It will increase the signal/reception in the direction it is pointing.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • What's it range?

It's range is very good. I am receiving a signal from a wireless device that is 50 meters from the antenna, it is inside a building and the device sends a very low signal even close to it!

  • How do I connect it to a usb port?

You don't. Directly, that is. You need a 2.4 GHz radio (aka "node") between your computer and the panel antenna. This can be on a USB-connected 2.4 GHz radio card with an external antenna port which matches the connector on your antenna. More than likely, you'll need an adapter. More commonly, however, the panel antenna you describe is fed with a device (node) such as a Ubiquiti Bullet M2HP which is connected to your computer with an Ethernet cable. The Bullet is powered by a Power over.

  • Is the female N connector on a short section of coax or mounted on the back of antenna?

Mounted to the back, in the center of the bracket, in the center of the antenna.

  • Is it possible to wall-mount with the included hardware?

No. The included hardware mounts to a pipe positioned parallel with the back of the panel. Wall mounting could possibly be fashioned, but with additional hardware.

  • Can I put this on a satellite dish to make the distance even father to receive the a hotspot?

You can try to do whatever you want but I doubt it will help. There are parabolic antennae on amazon which may be something you are looking for. Note, however, that neither this nor that antenna will help in a crowded hotspot area.

  • Will this picl a signal up a half mile away?

It sure will. I would like to recommend a 24 dbi instead. It is a little stronger, but the 20 will work.

  • Would I put this on the tranmiitting, or recieving end? I realize it does both, but wanting to get wifi in another building about 100' away.

I am using it on the receiving end to boost a week signal.

  • Trying to receive wifi from our club house. Line of sight about 350 feet. Think this will work?

I have tested this antenna and gotten good signal through line of site at distances of about 1300 feet. You should be fine (but remember, even light foliage can block line of sight).

  • Can I connect this to my Ethernet port on my router or would I need to search out and purchase an adapter if such an adapter exists?

You will need converter from your router antenna type to N-Female.

  • Is the tp511 or the tp513 better to use on a rv to pickup a park wifi about 1/4 mile away with trees in the way?

I'd go with the panel rather than the yagi. It's more robust, has higher gain, and a wider beamwidth. That being said, the trees may still give you grief.

  • If I buy this where I have to plug it in to?

It has a coaxial pigtail with an "N" connector which plugs into a 2.4 GHz node such as a Ubiquiti Bullet M2HP which has an "N" connector of the opposite gender.

  • Any one have a booster they recommend for this antenna? $50 round about price range. Was looking into 5w units thanks in advanced.

I coupled it up with a titanium bullet, that worked well.

  • Will this antenna hook to a router so that I can connect to wifi with my iPad/phone?

It will. But you would probably be better off using an omnidirectional antenna rather than directional depending on your setup.

  • Does this include a bracket to allow the mounting angle to be adjusted?

Yes left to right but not up and down.

  • Will this plug into an Alpha networks adapter so I can use it with my laptop?

Yes it will. I had it connected to my bear extender and worked great. You just need the proper cable. LMR-240 Ultra Low Loss RP-SMA & N Male Connectors.

  • I have a wifi hot spot with poor connection. Will this antenna work to boost wifi signal to the device?

I'm not sure about your application buy I use mine to boost reception into a repeater from a source roughly 150 feet away and it works well in that application.

  • How much feet this can pick up wifi from?

This depends or relies upon the transponder strength. I currently receive reliable 32 down and 13 up from 300 meters, yet I have above average conditions and am knowledgeable in nerd stuff.

  • How much feet this can pick up wifi from?

Our antenna was never installed. However, on another property these antennae bridged wifi between the roof of a 5 story building and a ground level guard shack more than 350 meters away. This was line of site with no obstructions. I do not have bandwidth information for this distance.

  • How well does it work? Does it broadcast the wifi? And can it receive a signal about 966.90 ft Or 851.14 ft?

I am using it for about a 1/4 mile and it work okay.

  • What kind of modem, Router, etc should I hook this up to for a wifi hotspot from my neighbors house?

    A wifi router. It's a wifi antenna.

  • Will I need a pre amp? This is 2.4 ghz and with a 30 run for roof to office, going to lose signal.

30 meters yes. 30 feet depends on the quality cable you buy.

  • Will I need additional equipment to connect this to my wireless router?

This antenna is not meant to mount to a home wireless router. You will need an outdoor type access point that has been properly grounded to the building ground plate, or a grounding line buried at least 6ft deep.

  • Is good for base station broadcasting?

I tried this product for exactly that and very very poor results it was used in a very open area but there was other types of Wi-Fi around so I'm not positive that didn't have something to do with the reception issues but we had very very poor distance response from this product.

  • Does this antenna have an rp-sma or n type connector?

It's N Female type of connector.

  • Does this antenna need added waterproofing? Like rtv on the back (seams & screws etc)? the winters here in ma are hard on antennas.

Probably yes. Easy to do - Philips screws around. And can cover the whole antenna with some plastic box. I love this antenna, very efficient.
